Angel M. Knoverek, Ph.D., LCPC, ACS

Dr. Angel Knoverek is an international trainer who has been working with children and adolescents for over 25 years.

Dr. Knoverek is an Assistant Professor at Culver-Stockton College and on the Clinical Faculty at Adams State University in the masters and doctorate Counselor Education Program. She is actively involved as an affiliate member of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) and serves as the co-chairperson of the Complex Trauma/Developmental Trauma Disorder Work Group. She has also served in numerous administrative, supervisory, and direct care roles in child-serving organizations including residential facilities and schools. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois and is an Approved Clinical Supervisor.

Dr. Knoverek has received extensive training in evidence-based practices in the child traumatic stress field and serves on numerous local, state, and national committees related to education and childhood trauma. She has co-authored multiple articles in peer-reviewed journal.

Dr. Knoverek is an endorsed trainer in Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS) and Psychological First Aid (PFA) and is also a Problem-Based Learning Facilitator for the NCTSN Core Curriculum on Childhood Trauma (CCCT). In addition, as a national member of the Complex Trauma Treatment Affiliates, Dr. Knoverek runs the Mindshift Center psychotherapeutic practice in Quincy, Illinois.
