Ms. Merle Perkins is a founding member of the Trauma Drama implementation and training troupe and contributed to the early development of the model.
Ms. Perkins has worked as a performing artist and teacher in the Boston area for over 30 years. She is a founding member Urban Improv, a social emotional learning program Urban Improv for youth.
Ms. Perkins is an Independent Reviewers of New England award winner, and has played roles at theaters throughout New England and abroad, including Lyric Stage Company of Boston, American Stage Festival, Jewish Theatre of New England, North Shore Music Theatre, Vineyard Playhouse, American Stage Festival, Brown Bag Opera, Wheelock Family Theatre, and American Repertory Theatre. Television and film credits include Six Feet Under (HBO), Mermaids, All the Rage, and We Pedal Uphill.
Ms. Perkins has taught singing and theatre classes at numerous schools, universities, churches and summer camps including Boston University Theatre Institute, Wheelock Family Theatre, Charles River Creative Arts Program, and United Parish of Brookline. A vocalist on Boston area stages and nightclubs, the Massachusetts Governor’s Office, the Mayor of Boston, the Boston Red Sox and numerous faith-based organizations have requested her to sing at events.
